Mysuru: Principal held on charge of sexual harassment
Mysuru: Following allegations of sexual harassment, the principal of Mangala school, an Ekalavya model residential tribal school of Hanur which comes under the tribal welfare department, has been arrested by Hanur police. The accused is 40-year-old Lokesh M.
According to tribal welfare officer of Chamarajanagar Krishnappa, six to seven girls, their parents and teachers had complained about sexual harassment by the school principal.
Earlier too, he had faced two similar cases in other institutions.
After permission was granted by the department and also Chamarajnagar Deputy Commissioner B.B. Cauvery, a complaint has been filed against him in Hanur police station.
Chamarajanagar SP Dharmendar Kumar Meena, said Lokesh has been booked under section 3 and 4 of POCSO.
He was produced before the local magistrate and sent to judicial custody for 15 days.
