Guntur: Galla Jayadev allots Rs 2-crore for Government General Hospital
GUNTUR: Guntur MP Galla Jayadev came forward to develop Government General Hospital (GGH) at Guntur by sanctioning Rs 2 crore from MPLADS funds. He visited GGH on Saturday and interacted with the officials over development of the oldest state hospital of AP.
Mr Jayadev asked GGH superintendent Dr D.S. Raju Naidu to prepare a detailed master plan and report about department-wise requirements of the GGH based on the population growth projections for the next 50 years and further immediate requirements for the next five years. He offered to provide a good architect for preparation of the master plan and suggested to make a sub-report about expansion of the GGH in the coming years. He said that Guntur city population is swiftly increasing due to new capital Amaravati. So the GGH should be switched into the main state hospital of Amaravati.Mr Jayadev suggested to keep only one entrance to the GGH by closing other gates in view of security and monitoring purposes and to avoid untoward incidents. He offered to sanction '2 crore funds under MPLADS for the GGH development and further involving Amar Raja group in the development of GGH under CSR initiative. He added that after completion of Parliament session, a team from Amar Raja group would visit the GGH and will prepare a detailed report for its development.
Dr Raju Naidu said that Guntur Municipal Corporation would initiate vertical parking to curb parking difficulties in the GGH. He said that land has been identified at Srinagar Colony to shift some departments to avoid congestion at the GGH. Guntur west MLA M. Venugopala Reddy and other officials participated in the meeting.
