Residents submit plea to Virugambakkam MLA V N Ravi on pending issues
CHENNAI: Members of resident welfare associations from Ashok Nagar recently met Virugambakkam MLA, V.N.Ravi to submit a petition regarding long-pending civic woes.
The work on the redressal of these problems is expected to kick-start in next month. “In the tenth sector, we have requested for speed-breakers in four streets (60-64). And we have also requested the MLA to appoint security guards in parks where illegal activities have become a common sight in late hours,” said one of the association members.
Name boards and underground sewage lines would also get a makeover and after the MLA meets the corporation officials, funds would be released after the estimate is prepared.
One of the prime problems that almost all the resident associations have put forth is the absence of small bus service from the area to Koyambedu. The bus can be operated from the depot, pass through Anna Main Road Arcot Road, Virugambakkam, Kaliamman Koil Street and CMBT, they said.
Association members have also requested for changes in 49A and 11H bus routes. While returning back to Poonamalle, the buses can pass through Rajamannar Salai, and join Arcot Road, they had suggested.
