Namakkal judge sends kids to government school
NAMAKKAL: Quality concerns push more and more parents to send their wards to good private schools. This may be the trend of the day, but a Judge in Namakkal has been a contrarian all through, making his children study only in government schools under the State Board.
He joins a new emulating group of judicial officers and administrators who have faith in the State school system.
Judge Vadivel, Namakkal Judicial Magistrate-1, who recently on transfer took charge in the Combined Magistrate Courts complex, on Tuesday unassumingly walked into Namakkal North Government Higher Secondary School on Tiruchengode road, with his daughter and son, Reemasakthi and Nishanthsakthi respectively.
The Judge and his wife reached the school headmistress office Ms. P. Shanthi and submitted the application forms for admitting their two children in the government school. On going through the application forms, the HM initiated the process of admitting Reemasakthi in class eight and Nishanthsakthi in class six.
The Judge's gesture was much appreciated by the people here as he chose to "live by example", said another parent of a ward studying in the school.
Earlier, the Judge while working in Thuraiyur court in Tiruchy district had similarly sent his children to study only in a government school there. With the admission done, teachers, other parents and students joined in to give the Judge's children a warm and appreciative welcome.
