Telugu Desam demands freedom to Anandaiah for making medicine
VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam MLA Yeluri Sambasiva Rao on Saturday accused the YSR Congress government of creating 'needless hurdles' for Anandaiah Covid medicine under the pretext of Section 144 that is in force in Krishnapatnam.
Rao demanded the government to wake up from its delusions of permanent power and start initiating steps to protect people in this critical time. He further demanded all necessary permissions should be given to Anandaiah to make the medicine and have it distributed to every patient.
He wanted to know the rationale behind night permission to Anandaiah when there were frequent power-cuts at the place where the medicines are made. He alleged that the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime had deliberately refused to give daytime permission with the ulterior motive of obstructing distribution of the medicine.
The TD leader said that instead of encouraging Anandaiah to give his ayurvedic medicine to as many people as possible, YSRC leaders were bent on politicising the issue, which, he said, was unfortunate.
Rao said that the state government was trying to claim credit without any decency and decorum. He alleged that in order to help the medical mafia, the government had harassed Anandaiah by shifting him to different secret locations in the name of providing security.
Meanwhile, another TD leader Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu on Saturday demanded the government to announce an immediate Covid-19 package and monthly financial assistance to the poorer sections and workers who were suffering due to lack of work. Patrudu urged the state government to set aside its adamant attitude and follow in the footsteps of the neighbouring States to rescue the people from the pandemic.
He pointed out that Tamil Nadu was giving Rs. 4,000 financial assistance besides strictly implementing the Amma Canteens programme, Kerala was giving Rs. 6,000 every month besides delivering 16 essential items at the doorstep of poor families. He deplored that while other Chief Ministers were visiting Covid centres to check facilities there, Reddy was not coming out of his Tadepalli palace.
Patrudu lamented that even with regard to black fungus cases, AP stood at third place whereas it was second worst hit in terms of Covid cases. He alleged that inept oxygen plants had caused the death of over 106 Covid patients.
