VHR meets RRR-hit farmers, demands their immediate release from jail
HYDERABAD: Former MP V. Hanumantha Rao on Monday met farmers affected by the change in alignment of the regional ring road, who are languishing in Nalgonda jail.
Addressing the press after meeting them, he said, “The irony of the state government jailing farmers under non-bailable cases and then calling itself a pro-farmer government is not lost on anyone. The change in alignment of the road has put farmers in trouble. The cases should be withdrawn forthwith.”
The people will teach the K. Chandrashekar Rao government. Farmers, unemployed youth, students, BC, SC, ST and minorities will together teach BRS a befitting lesson, he warned.
He was accompanied by Nalgonda DCC president Shankar Nayak, senior leaders Ramalingam Yadav, Shambula Srikanth Goud and other local leaders.
