VIJAYAWADA: In a bid to safeguard the interests of party supporters who are allegedly being targeted by the YSR Congress activists in several parts of the state, Telugu Desam has launched a toll free number 7306299999 advising the party supporters to inform immediately in case they face any attack or threat of attack.
Once the information is passed on, help could be extended immediately and the issue could be brought to the notice of the government.
Addressing the party supporters at a meeting held at Guntur on Thursday, former minister N. Lokesh called upon them to avail the toll free number to alert the leadership in case they face any trouble from YSR Congress activists and asked them to post their ordeals on social media so that the people in the state could realise who were involved in targeting the TD cadre and resorting to violence. Mr Lokesh vowed to fight legally against all such unlawful activities.
Referring to the killing of six TD supporters in the recent past, Mr Lokesh said that they had set up the toll free number only to instil confidence among the party cadre so that they could immediately alert the party leaders who in turn would take necessary measures to handle such issues.
The Telugu Desam leader flayed the YSR Congress regime for its inability in handling issues properly and blamed them for their inefficiency and advised Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to pay more attention on the development of the state.
