D Srinivas son Sanjay absconds, police intensifies search
NIZAMABAD: TRS MP D. Srinivas’s son, former mayor D. Sanjay, is absconding as police teams search for him in a sexual harassment case. Four police teams are searching in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Maharashtra to trace the whereabouts of the accused. A group of 11 BSc (Nursing) students, from Shankary Nursing College in Nizamabad owned by Sanjay, lodged a complaint with IV town police over alleged sexual harassment.
Following the directives of home minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, DGP M. Mahender Reddy and Nizamabad Commissioner Kartikeya initiated steps in the case. Sanjay addressed a press meet at his residence at First Mayor Street on Friday prior to the registering of the case against him. Within minutes of the case being registered under the Nirbhaya Act, Sanjay disappeared from Nizamabad.
His cell phone was switched off and his house was locked. Meanwhile, student unions demanded cancellation of the recognition of Shankary Nursing College. Under the aegis of PDSU, student union leaders also submitted a memorandum to the Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University in Warangal on Saturday.
