Brazen Theft: Gold, Cash Stolen from Temple as Culprits Break Wall

Hyderabad: Unidentified persons broke the wall of the Durga Bhavani temple at Gautamnagar and stole about 20 tolas gold and Rs 80,000 cash, Malkajgiri police said on Saturday. The temple priest who arrived to open the temple's door discovered the theft. Police said the thieves took away the digital video recorder of the CCTV camera.

Malkajgiri inspector Ravi Kumar stated, “We have registered a case and are checking the surveillance cameras around the temple. However, it appears that they are not operational. The investigation is ongoing to apprehend the culprits.”

Burglar's Escape Attempt Ends in Tragedy: Falls into Well, Drowns

Adilabad: A man who entered a house to burgle it by climbing the bathroom wall accidentally fell into an adjacent well when he tried to escape, and drowned. Police said the man could have heard some sounds and suspected that the family members were waking up, at the house near IB Chowrasta in Mancherial town on Friday night. The issue came to light when the houseowner found the body in the well on Saturday morning. The CCTV camera recorded the incident.

Tragedy Strikes: Two B.Tech Students Drown While Bathing in Canal

Nizamabad: Two BTech students drowned in Kakatiya main canal at Mendora, while trying to take a bath. Police said three persons, Putta Venu Yadav, Balguri Pranav Rao and Gnandeep of Gayatrinagar in Nizamabad, went to Sriramsagar project on Friday, met up with their classmate Nomula Bhavith Reddy in Mendora and went to the Kakatiya main canal on Friday evening. When they entered the canal, Venu Yadav and Pranav Rao drowned as they were unable to estimate the depth of the water. Gnandeep and Bhavith Reddy narrowly escaped.

Hyderabad: Director General of Police Anjani Kumar on Saturday handed over a cheque for Rs 30 lakh as compensation to M. Uma Devi, wife of Home Guard Majji Govinda Rao who died in an accident on May 4, 2023. He said the police was committed to helping families financially through an appropriate financial package on the death of the salary-earner. Rag Picker Injured in Tiffin Box Explosion: Investigation Underway

Warangal: A rag picker suffered severe burns on his legs and hands when a tiffin box exploded at NTR Nagar on Hunter Road of Hanamkonda on Saturday. Police said the explosion occurred when the victim, Bhukya Chadru, was picking up plastic waste.

He noticed a tiffin box in the pile and opened it but it exploded immediately with a loud sound. Locals who heard the sound ran out of their houses, saw Chandru and called the police.

Chandru was shifted to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital and then to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad.

The police who are examining the contents of the box suspect that it was washed there in floodwaters.

22 Kg Ganja Seized: Two Arrested in Telangana for Interstate Drug Trafficking

Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) along with Abdullapurmet police on Saturday arrested two persons, Jalaluddin Ahmed Hussain Siddiqui of Bihar and Jameel Akthar of Maharashtra, and seized 22 kilograms of ganja and a car in which they were taking the contraband. The duo had purchased the ganja from one Pandu of Araku in AP and was taking it to one Nayeem in Maharashtra. Police said the duo had been transporting ganja for 12 years
