KARIMNAGAR: Incessant rains have brought heavy inflows to the barrages under Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) project in the erstwhile Karimnagar district.
In Lakshmi barrage at Medigadda the inflow is recorded around 2,05,980 cusecs of water. All 85 gates of the barrage have been opened to release the 2,05,980 cusecs of water to the downstream.
In Saraswathi barrage, the inflow is about 76,235 cusecs of water. By lifting 45 gates around 90,402 cusecs of water was released into the Parvathi barrage. Currently, the water level in Saraswathi (Annaram) barrage is recorded at 3.54 tmcs against its full capacity of 10.87 tmcs.
Nearly 2,10,000 cusecs of water was recorded at Parvathi barrage and the officials lifted 50 gates to release the additional water. The current water level in the barrage was recorded at 5.92 tmcs against its full capacity of 8.83 tmcs.
Due to heavy inflows of water from upstream and with continuous rains around 2,04,192 cusecs of water was recorded at Sripada Yellampalli barrage. To maintain the water level, 20 gates have been opened to release the water to the downstream. The water storage level at present in Yellampalli reservoir was recorded at 18.452 tmcs against its full capacity of 20.175 tmc.
The Lower Manair Dam (LMD) reservoir received inflow of 48,856 cusecs of water from its catchment area of Mohithummeda rivulet. The dam reservoir currently has 21.02 tmcs of water while its maximum storage capacity is 24.07 tmcs. The officials discharged around 18,000 cusecs of water to downstream by opening spill gates.
The Mid Manair Dam (MMD) reservoir received around 33,000 cusecs of water. Around 33,610 cusecs of water was released by opening spill gates. Currently, the water level in MMD is 20.42 tmcs against its full capacity of 27.55 tmcs of water.
