Telangana to get relief from heat in 2 days

Kerala and Tamil Nadu are likely to receive very heavy rainfall, as the low pressure is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm.

Hyderabad: A low pressure area that has formed over the Arabian Sea is likely to bring isolated rainfall in the state and change the direction of hot winds, resulting in pleasant weather.

Telangana state that is currently witnessing dry weather condition due to the hot winds from Rajasthan, will get relief from the scorching heat after 48 hours.

Kerala and Tamil Nadu are likely to receive very heavy rainfall, as the low pressure is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm. Kerala that is slowing limping back to normalcy after catastrophic damage has once again received heavy rainfall warning. Meanwhile, during the water year 2018-19 (up to September), Telangana state received 661 mm against the normal of 719 mm (71.9 cm), leaving the State with an eight per cent shortfall.

Thirteen districts mainly located in central, western and southern parts of the state received deficit rainfall (minus 23 per cent in Medchal to minus 42 per cent in Sangareddy) during this water year (up to September).

As against last year, September saw a rise in water levels in 15 districts. Nizamabad, Nagarkurnool and Kalwakurthy districts had lowest ground water levels. Shallow water levels (less than 5 metres below ground level) occurred in about 28 percent State area covering northern and eastern parts of the state.

The forecast for the state for the next two days is thunderstorm accompanied with lighting at isolated places across all districts of Telangana State. The city is likely to receive rain or thunder showers towards evening or night. The day and night temperatures will be about 33°C and 23°C respectively.
