Irked by GHMC's ineptness, HC summons commissioner
Hyderabad: Irked by the GHMC’s failure to implement court orders pertaining to the protection of Ramanthapur Pedda Cheruvu from encroachments, the Telangana High Court on Thursday summoned corporation commissioner Ronald Rose to appear before it on October 10.
A bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar had on September 13 issued directions to the civic body to remove the encroachments, desilt the lake and build a fence around it. These orders were issued while hearing a petition taken up by the court in 2005.
The court had sought the GHMC’s plan of action on October 5, which the corporation failed to submit.
When the matter was called on Thursday, GHMC standing counsel could not explain why the report was not filed.
