Kerala CM promises timely wages
Kannur: Quick steps would be taken to reduce the delay in disbursing the wages for the handloom labourers of the district who are engaged with the school uniform project of the education department, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Pinarayi, near here, on Sunday. He was reacting to a memorandum submitted by the Kaithari Weavers Cooperative Societies' Association during his public interaction and grievance redressal programme at Pinarayi.
A permanent solution will be in place soon for ensuring timely wages to the labourers, he said.
The Chief minister also received the 'master plan' for the 75 houses to be constructed by the Hindustan Unilever company spending Rs 10 crore for the flood-hit families. Representatives of the company explained the details of the project to chief minister. The company would construct homes at the land provided by the government, the company authorities informed the chief minister. The houses will have two bedrooms, a sit-out, kitchen and a toilet.
The chief minister started his public interaction and complaint redressal session at 9 am. Pinarayi Vijayan also received the contributions of various organisations and groups to the Chief Minister's flood relief fund.
