Action sought against schools, colleges for running classes on Sunday

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh State Child Rights Protection Commission (APSCRPC) member Gondu Seetaram directed the Intermediate RIO and District Education Department officials to take immediate legal action against the managements of corporate, private schools and colleges which conducted special classes on Sunday on the pretext of non-completion of syllabus of Class 10 and Intermediate courses in Visakhapatnam city.

In a statement on Sunday, Seetaram said that the holidays on the second Saturday of every month and every Sunday as prescribed by the state government should be implemented by educational institutions under any circumstances as there were no special exceptions for any school and or college in the state. Special teams had been formed to monitor the implementation of the holidays for educational institutions, he said.
