Mangaluru airport helps a family that faced mid-air health crisis
Mangaluru: Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) came to the aid of a family that faced a mid-air health crisis on Friday.
On December 3, the Air India Express aircraft in which the family of five were travelling to Sharjah from Kannur made an emergency landing at MIA after the woman passenger in the family suffered a cardiac arrest and breathing issues.
The airport operation control central of MIA received an alert from the commander of flight IX-745 about the medical emergency. The airport authorities immediately took all the measures to help the patient.
After the emergency landing, Airport Health Organization doctor examined the woman passenger onboard and found her to be stable.
Immediately the MIA took steps to escort the patient, along with her husband and three children to A J Hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.
The Doctors confirmed that the woman passenger was out of danger. A senior MIA official got in touch with the woman passenger’s husband and assured all possible assistance for their journey to Sharjah.
The family departed from Mangaluru to Sharjah at 11 pm, according to MIA officials.
