Kochi: Women entry failure of protest, says Rahul Easwar
Kochi: Ayyappa Seva Samajam president Rahul Easwar has admitted that entry of young women at Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple is a failure of the protest against women entry. "The entry might weaken the case pending with the Supreme Court," he said while addressing a press conference here on Saturday.
"Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is lying that a Sri Lankan young woman entered Sannidhanam. The government also claimed that 10 young women have entered the temple. Through this the Chief Minister is trying to create an impression that young women are freely entering the temple and it is no more an issue. This will misguide the court and weaken the case which is to be heard on January 22," he added.
The chief minister should release more visuals and pictures of the Sri Lankan woman entering the Sannidhanam, Mr. Easwar asked. He also alleged that the it is the Kannur lobby in the ministry including the chief minister, which facilitated entry of two young women without the knowledge of Devaswom Board and minister.
"What Tantri did is right as purification rituals are part of the temple traditions. Chief minister is propagating a false campaign that purification rituals were conducted since one of the women were Dalit," he alleged.
