Kanakadurga to stay at in-laws' home
Malappuram: The village court (Grama Nyayalay) at Pulamanthol in Malappuram district granted the prayer of Kanakadurga, who had a darsan at Sabarimala Sannidhanam, to allow her into the house of her husband and to live with her children.
She had submitted a plea under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act at the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Perinthalmanna which handed over the case to Pulamanthol village court. It is the village court that settles family issues under Angadippuram panchayat.
It is to be recalled that her husband Krishnanunni and relatives refused to receive her at home after her controversial Darsan at Sabarimala. She had forced to live in a short-stay home for women in distress as she was forced out from home. She had also undergone treatment at Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, after she was allegedly attacked by mother-in-law.
It was in first week of January, Kanaka Durga along with Bindu managed to enter the hill shrine. She left home in second week of December, 2018, under the pretext of attending a meeting at Thiruvananthapuram. But, on December 24, she attempted to visit Sabarimala along with Bindu, native of Koyilandy.
