Khammam: Thousands of people paid homage to the Public Accounts Committee chairman Ramreddy Venkat Reddy during his last rites at Patha Lingala under Kamepalli mandal on Saturday. The people from Palair Assembly segment and erstwhile Sujathanagar Assembly segment rushed to Patha Lingala and recalled his services to the poor people in the district. The body of Venkat Reddy was placed at Patha Lingala till 2 pm for the visiting of the people.
PAC chairman’s younger brother R. Krishna Reddy lit the pyre. The funeral was organised with official honour and minister for roads and buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao attended.
Scores of Congress leaders including TPCC president N. Uthamkumar Reddy, working president Malli Bhatti Vikramarka, CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, Nalgonda MP Sukhender Reddy and MLAs Jeevan Reddy, Puvvada Ajay Kumar and MLC K. Rajagopal Reddy and district collector Lokesh Kumar and SP Shahnawaz Qasim attended the funeral.
