KTR flays railway minister for ruling out rail coach factory at Kazipet
Hyderabad: Industries minister K.T. Rama Rao came out strongly against railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for his remarks made in Hyderabad on Friday that there was no chance of setting up a railway coach factory in Kazipet, despite it being one of the assurances under the AP Bifurcation Act.
In a release here on Saturday, Rao said that the Centre has been discriminating against Telangana on the ITIR project, Bayyaram steel plant, national status to irrigation projects, and many more that were all promised under the Bifurcation Act. He said that Vaishnaw's statement on the coach factory was an extension of this biasand tantamount to cheating the people of Telangana, he said.
Several representations have been made to the Centre seeking the factory in Kazipet. In fact, the state government had acquired 150 acres and handed it over to the Centre, he pointed out.
He recalled that after ruling out a railway coach factory in 2017, the Centre had in the very next year announced during electioneering plans to set up Marathwada railway coach factory in Latur, which exposes its double standards, he said.
Dumping the assurance of the Kazipet project given on the floor of Parliament, Modi has shown utter contempt against the state’s development, Rao said. The BJP will pay dearly for this as Telangana people would not forget this treachery, he said.
