YSRC rally for rail zone in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: The Union Government should at least now confer a separate railway zone to Andhra Pradesh with Visakhapatnam as the headquarters, stressed YSRC district president Gudivada Amarnath. Mr Amarnath’s padayatra, launched on March 30 for a separate railway zone, reached the core Vizag city on Wednesday. He said the TD government had inducted YSRC MLAs into the Cabinet in an undemocratic way.
“The railway zone can resolve various problems of the region and generate employment. Each person I met during my Padayatra said they want a separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam,” Mr Amarnath said. The YSRC leader said the Chandrababu Naidu government had its focus only on land-grabbing in the guise of development. “They don’t bother about the problems and issues of the general public such as a special category status or a separate railway zone. Only days are left for the Telugu Desam government to step down as the people will teach a lesson to it in the next elections. YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will participate in a public meeting in Bheemili on April 9, on the conclusion day of my padayatra,” Mr Amarnath said. The padayatra covered areas like Sankara Matam road, Dondaparthy Junction, Railway New Colony, Dabagardens, Poorna Market etc on Wednesday. Thousands of YSRC activists and leaders accompanied him.
