TSRTC warns staff: behave properly with passengers

Hyderabad: TSRTC drivers and conductors have been warned not to mistreat their passengers. Conductors have been told not to rebuke passengers who don’t offer change and drivers have been told not to shout at passengers who board or exit the buses.
They have also been asked to be more “welcoming” and officials have told staff to properly announce stops and ask passengers to be seated “politely”.
The move comes after a survey which found that “rude behaviour” by staff was one of the primary reasons behind falling revenues, because passengers were simply not taking buses due to obnoxious drivers and ticket collectors.
Officials added that a seminar on “passenger management” has been conducted to better train their staff.
