Innocent sorry for verbal duel
Kochi: Actor-turned MP Innocent and the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) has tendered an apology for the behaviour of Mukesh and Ganesh Kumar towards media persons in Kochi after the general body meeting of AMMA a few days ago. Speaking to reporters at Irinjalakkuda on Wednesday, he said the behaviour of the two actors, who are also MLAs, was not “right”.
“The two have not used any foul language but shouting and hooting was not proper. They were overexcited and I apologise for the same” he said. “Their (Mukesh and Kumar) actions have also dented my image”, he said. “The demand by Mr. Kumar to dismantle AMMA has pained me”, he said. He added that many of the issues raised by Mr. Kumar in his letter were legitimate. The constraints faced by AMMA in addressing some of the concerns expressed by Kumar had been explained to him and he was satisfied with the explanation, Innocent said.
Innocent however, refuted reports that he was planning to resign the post of the AMMA President. He also said that there was no hindrance to any woman with abilities becoming the president of the organization. On the issue of the attack and sexual assault of a female actor, Innocent said AMMA was fully with the actor. Innocent also said that Dileep had denied any involvement in the incident when he asked him about the incident.
