Anand rewards cops for excellent service
Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand on Wednesday rewarded three inspectors with cash and appreciation certificates for their concerted efforts in ensuring a life conviction for a notorious psychopath who killed three beggars.
Police inspectors - M. Narender, S. Saida Babu, and Md. Khaleel Basha, and six constables - Md. Haseeb Ahmed, S. Shivaji, Shaik Khadeer, M. Ganesh, K. Sai Prasad, and Bhanu Chander, as well as the additional public prosecutor, K. Srivani who worked as a team, were the ones to receive the reward.
Despite limited leads, police took it as a challenge and investigated the case by connecting the dots that led to the apprehension of the accused, the police said.
According to Banjara Hills inspector M. Narender, accused Mohammed Khadeer has a criminal history in Habibnagar and Nampally police stations respectively. "Khadeer is a habitual offender. He used to target the roadside beggars in the nighttime, steals their money and bludgeons them to death. He killed three innocent beggars," the inspector said
By coordinating with the APP (the official source of professional practice for policing), the investigating officer (IO), assisted by staff officers, presented compelling facts to the court. Their efforts have resulted in the conviction and the court pronounced life imprisonment.
Anand appreciated the teamwork and presented cash rewards and appreciation certificates to the deserving cops.
Additional CP, A.R. Srinivas (Crimes & SIT) joined in acknowledging the commendable efforts of the rewarded individuals.
