Politicians Pay Rich Tributes to Telangana Poet of People Gaddar

Hyderabad: Telangana folk singer, known as the poet of the people, Gaddar passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Ameerpet, Hyderabad.

Politicians from various parties have paid their tributes to Gaddar. Expressing sadness over his demise, several leaders shared grief and fond memories with Gaddar.

Priyanka Gandhi in a tweet said, "Saddened to hear about the passing of Shri Gummadi Vittal Rao garu, the iconic poet and relentless activist.

His unwavering dedication to social causes and the fight for Telangana's statehood was truly inspiring. Gaddar ji's powerful verses echoed the aspirations of millions, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.

May his legacy continue to ignite the flames of change. Rest in peace, Gaddar garu, (sic)".

Rahul Gandhi tweeted "Saddened to hear about the demise of Shri Gummadi Vittal Rao, Telangana’s iconic poet, balladeer and fiery activist.

His love for the people of Telangana drove him to fight tirelessly for the marginalised. May his legacy continue to inspire us all (sic)".

Union minister Kishan Reddy condoled the passing away of Gaddar. He said that he felt sad knowing about the demise of the revolutionary singer Gaddar. "Gaddar played a crucial role and brought awareness among masses through his voice during Telangana agitation," tweeted Kishan. He extended heartfelt condolences to the family members of Gaddar.

Jairam Ramesh tweeted "The one and only Gaddar (pronounced à¤-़दर)—revolutionary poet, balladeer, folk singer and activist who electrified audiences in Telangana especially, has just passed away. His fiercely passionate commitment to social justice was legendary.

I recall my many interactions with him and would always be struck by his charisma and moved by the saga of his struggles, (sic)".

Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy tweeted his condolence message in a poetical form. " Your song is Telangana Veda, your ankles are Telangana's roar, ... You are a lifetime memory, your death is an eternal injury to me (sic)."
