Jagan Must introduce anti-conversion bill, Demands VHP
Vijayawada: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) central general secretary Milind Parande demanded that Andhra Pradesh government immediately introduce an anti-conversion bill to restrain religious conversions, which are taking place on a large scale in AP.
Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, he further demanded that Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) give jobs and allot shops in Tirumala only to Hindus. He criticised the state government for nominating corrupt people and economic offenders as members of the TTD Trust Board.
Milind Parande said Vishwa Hindu Parishad is opposing such appointments. He maintained that only God-fearing people with integrity should be appointed on the temple trusts all over Andhra Pradesh State.
The VHP leader said the parishad is completing 60 years of its formation. On the occasion, it is planning organisational expansion. At present, there are 60,000 committees, which will be increased to 1 lakh. Its membership will go up from 72 lakh to 1 crore.
Regarding VHP activities in Andhra Pradesh, Milind Parande said the parishad has been undertaking 27 service activities in Harijan and Girijan areas for past 40 years. It is running schools with 950 students, with 520 of the students living in the hostels. This will double in the near future," he stated.
Referring to Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments on Sanatana Dharma, he said the VHP vehemently opposes his remarks and demands unconditional apologies from him.
