Ex-Telugu Desam MP Sivaji tells CM Naidu to act on corrupt staff

Mr Sivaji claimed that elimination of corruption is the responsibility of the concerned department officials and ministers.

Guntur: Former Rajyasabha MP and senior Telugu Desam leader Yalamanchili Sivaji alleged that corruption in the Telugu Desam government has increased multi-fold and has written a letter to CM N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday seeking stern action to restrain corruption among government officials. He released the letter at a meet in Guntur on Thursday.

Mr Sivaji alleged that the ACB officials in their raids on corrupt officials, recovered documents that showed they had hoarded 100-600 crores of assets.

Mr Sivaji also opined that corruption has spread in all departments and according to the reports, bribes have become the common practice for sanctioning of contracts, subsidy, housing loans, plans, occupancy certificates, issuing of revenue pass books, survey of lands, commercial taxes, issuing of No Objection Certificates, material purchases, sand digging, quarries allotment, employees appointment and transfers and other government activities.

Mr Sivaji claimed that elimination of corruption is the responsibility of the concerned department officials and ministers. He said that there was no point of Mr Naidu working 18 hours per day if he cannot curtail corruption in TD government.

Mr Sivaji said that people used to hold kings, emperors and rulers responsible for the corruption in the society in the ancient times. Now, the CM is responsible for the increasing corruption in the democratic system, he added.
