Telangana High Court verdict on Srinivas Goud\'s election petition on October 9
Hyderabad: Justice M. Laxman of the Telangana High Court on Thursday reserved verdict in the petition filed against the election of minister V. Srinivas Goud in 2019. The judgement will be pronounced on October 9.
The petitioner, Chaluvagali Raghavendra Raju, wanted Goud’s election from Mahabubnagar to be nullified as he had suppressed information about his wife's properties and loans they had availed.
During the pendency of the petition, Raju had approached the special court for MPs and MLAs cases with a private complaint, seeking a direction to the SHO, Mahbubnagar, to probe manipulation of records by Goud and the then election officers, who helped him change his election affidavit.
The police filed a case on the directions of the special court. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India complained to the High Court about the special court ordering the cases against its officers. This resulted in the suspension of the special court judge.
