Odisha lawyer gets head shaved for HC bench
Bolangiri: A lawyer in Odisha’s Bolangir on Wednesday got his head tonsured as a mark of protest over the delay in establishment of a permanent bench of the Odisha High Court here.
Pressing for their demand, lawyers staged a demonstration and a protest in the town on Wednesday.
During the protest, lawyer Madean Seth got his head tonsured in public alleging that the state government has remained indifferent to their genuine demand.
The protesters were also seen obstructing district collector Arindam Dakua from entering his office. They had warned that civil court, collector and Tahsil offices will remain closed from December 4. to 10.
The lawyers warned that they would continue their agitation until their demand is fulfilled. Several outfits, including the Central Action Committee also joined the protest.
