Kidnappers nabbed in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana astrologer saved
VIJAYAWADA: Ibrahimpatnam police on Wednesday nabbed an eight-member gang of kidnappers and rescued an astrologer belonging to Jagtial in Telangana state.
Ibrahimpatnam police set up check posts at various places following an alert by Jagtial cops regarding the kidnapping. They noticed the astrologer, identified as 32-year-old Durga Rao, being taken in a car and nabbed the gang. Upon interrogation, the kidnappers told the police that they recently approached Durga Rao under the pretext of getting their fortune told.
During their interaction, they elicited information about his income, family background and properties. They then conducted a recce and abducted him from his home. The kidnappers then called Durga Rao’s father and demanded a ransom of Rs 15 lakh to set him free.
The police was alerted and this led to the rescue of the astrologer.
