Sub Inspector suspended in Mangaluru for gross negligence in POCSO probe

Mangaluru: The Sub Inspector of Women's Police Station in Mangaluru has been suspended for gross negligence in the investigation of a POCSO case.

Mangaluru City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that Women's Police Station Sub Inspector Rosamma has been suspended for negligence in the probe.

The case was filed a few months ago against a Head Constable serving at Kankanady Station in Mangaluru.

Rosamma, the Sub Inspector of Women's Police Station, was appointed as the Investigation Officer to probe the case.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police (South) found that there were mistakes and negligence in the investigation of the case. The DCP too found the same.
"Steps are taken to set right the mistakes in the probe and the department will also see if the negligence and mistakes were intentional," Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said.
