KCR To Return To Party Work From Feb, To Tour Districts
Hyderabad: BRS president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will return to active work from February and undertake visits to the districts as part of his party’s efforts to gear up its leaders and cadre for the Lok Sabha elections.
“KCR is recovering well and soon he will be in our midst. He will come to Telangana Bhavan everyday. The Assembly elections results are just a speed-breaker. For the first time we are the principal opposition party. We will show what we are worth through our work. There is no need to feel disheartened, and in the days to come, our future will be brighter,” senior party leader T Harish Rao said.
Addressing a meeting of party leaders and workers from Peddapalli Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, Harish Rao called on the party leaders to work to ensure a victory for the BRS. “The party will function as per the wishes of its leaders and cadres,” he added.
The BRS, he said, will not stand by and watch when the Congress government waters down programmes and schemes introduced by the BRS. “Already, they are pasting new stickers on KCR Kits, but everyone knows who introduced it and how the kits have helped women. The government may succeed in removing KCR’s images from various schemes but can never take him away from the hearts and minds of the people,” Harish Rao said.
Reassuring party workers, he said, if anyone is targeted by the Congress or its leaders, BRS leaders would rush to their support. Saturday’s meeting went on for seven hours with party leaders expressing their opinions about the recent Assembly elections, what could have been done better by the party, and providing suggestions for the way forward.
