Karnataka: HAL's key aircraft to display their might
BENGALURU: An array of HAL’s key aircraft and helicopters, including the basic trainer aircraft HTT-40, first indigenously upgraded Hawk Mk132, named Hawk-i, Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), will display their prowess at Aero India 2017 commencing here on February 14.
The Advanced Hawk, the latest development of the world’s most successful jet trainer, will debut at the air show. Clad in Indo-UK colours, the Advanced Hawk will be on display at HAL’s stand, together with a simulator showcasing the aircraft’s new capabilities. The Advanced Hawk will reduce training demands on more expensive frontline aircraft, creating additional capacity for operational tasks, whilst delivering fast jet training in a more cost-effective, structured and safer environment. “Visitors will get an opportunity to know about Advanced Hawk which will be kept on display in front of HAL pavilion” says T. Suvarna Raju, Chairman & Managing Director, HAL.
Mr Stephen Timms, ? Managing Director - Defence Information, Training & Services, BAE Systems, said “The Advanced Hawk is a testimonial of our commitment to sharing technology, capability and knowledge to build advanced systems in India, for India, and from India. Together with HAL, we are looking forward to show this industry-funded demonstrator to the Indian and other Air Forces and seeking their feedback on the combination of features that will better prepare student combat pilots for the demands of frontline aircraft. ”
In addition, HAL will unveil a mock-up model of the Indian Multi Role Helicopter (IMRH) in the indoor pavilion. The HTT-40, upgraded Jaguar, Mirage 2000, LCH and LUH will be on static display during the five-day air show.
Among those scheduled to demonstrate their capabilities are the Advanced Light Helicopter Mk III Dhruv and Mk IV, Rudra, helicopter.
