Chennai: Tamil Nadu Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao on Monday accepted the resignation of Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and his council of ministers. Mr Rao accepted the resignation which was sent to him on Sunday afternoon, but asked OPS and his ministers to continue in their posts till “alternative arrangements” are made.
The acceptance of OPS’ resignation paves the way for Ms Sasikala Natarajan to take over as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Ms Sasikala was elected as the leader of the AIADMK Legislature Party on Sunday replacing Mr Panneerselvam.
