Visakha Utsav a pretext to loot money, alleges YSRC
Visakhapatnam: Fingers are being pointed at the expenditure incurred on the Visakha Utsav and also the haphazard way it was organised, without the event being promoted in some places. There was no promotion of tourism spots of the district in other states, alleged YSRC leader Peethala Murthy Yadav on Monday.
“Visakha Utsav which was supposed to be a state festival was held like Ganta Festival. There is a situation in the district that Ganta Srinivas Rao’s Cabinet colleague, Ch Ayyanaparudu didn’t even attend the event. There are reports that more than '2 crore were allotted for the event. But public were forced to shell out huge money at some stalls set up on the beach road as part of Visakha Utsav. District administration should put the event account details on public domain,” Mr Yadav told reporters. “Forget about other states, towns and places in neighbouring districts of north Andhra had no information about the festival,” he said.
