All set for inauguration of Bengaluru-Mysuru highway
BENGALURU: The Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway which has been upgraded from a State Highway to a National Highway with 10-lane, is all set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 12 and following his visit to Mandya, vehicular movement on the road will be diverted for about 12-hrs from 6 am to 6 pm.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be addressing a gathering near Gejjalagere of Mandya and there would be heavy movement of VIPS on the day. Considering their security, traffic diversion has been effected on the Bengaluru-Mysuru road on the day, said a release from Mandya Superintendent of Police Yatish on Tuesday.
The release stated that travellers from Mysuru towards Bengaluru have been asked to take Bannur-Malavalli, Kanakapura to reach Bengaluru city while from Bengaluru travelers have been asked to follow the road to Kanakapura, Malavalli, Bannur to reach Mysuru.
For those travelling from Mysuru towards Tumakuru, the release asked to take diversion at Srirangapatna, Pandavapura, Nagamangala, Bellur cross and reach Tumakuru.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Pratap Simha made an inspection of the National Highway 275 (Bengaluru-Mysuru) and directed the officials concerned of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to expedite the pending works on the Highway particular near Budanoor of Mandya where about 2-km of the road works needs to be completed.
Simha wanted NHAI officials to complete the pending works near Budanoor in about five days. NHAI Project Director Sridhara, PWD Chief Engineer Govindaraju among others were present during the Highway works inspection.
