Bengaluru: It was not the usual workday morning for the residents of HSR Layout on Wednesday. The residential area that had reportedly not seen water shortage in years was hit by severe water shortage.
The residents, most of them women, gathered in front of the area BWSSB office and shouted slogans. BWSSB chief Vijay Bhaskar said, “We are pumping more water than usual because of summer.
Normally, we pump 1350 mld, now we are crossing 1400-500 mld. Sometimes, due to power shutdown, pipe repairs we stop releasing water temporarily.”
