Ooty's JSS Pharmacy College bags 9th rank
Ooty: JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, has been ranked first among the pharmacy colleges in Tamil Nadu and ninth in the country by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). This is a special recognition to the college, said Dr S.P.Dhanapal, principal of the college. “Among the 34 government colleges and 419 private colleges, a total of 454 colleges applied for the ranking, we were placed within the top ten.
This is recognition for the infrastructure, human resources, research outcomes, placements and meritorious students of the college and we are hoping to move forward in the ranking in future,” he said. The JSS College of Pharmacy in Ooty is an off-campus college of JSS University at Mysuru, which has been ranked 35th among the top 100 universities in the country.
With the able leadership of Dr B. Suresh, vice chancellor of the university, the constituent colleges will deliver their best to society, Dr Dhanapal said. The rank list was announced and award was distributed at an official function held on April 4 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Dr K.P. Arun, nodal officer of the college for NIRF received the award from Smriti Irani, Union minister for human resource development.
