Tanuvas ranks first among 12 state universities
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (Tanuvas) stood first among the 12 state veterinary and animal sciences universities in the country, according to its Vice-Chancellor S.Thilagar. He was speaking to reporters regarding national rankings in which Tanuvas secured the 36th rank. “Only two state veterinary universities featured in the top 100. The other one was Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences which secured the 97th rank,” he said.
“In teaching and learning resources, the university secured fifth position at the national level and first position in the State.” When asked about the new projects in the university, he said, “Work on Bio Security Lab at Madhavaram campus will start soon. It will be completed in two years,” he added.
Tanuvas is also planning to introduce six diploma courses including rearing of cows and goats at the regional research centre in Pudukkottai. The courses are likely to start in August.
