Rajinikanth's 'Kaala' release: Chennai fans cheer, burst crackers at dawn

A large numbers of Rajinikanth's fans, wearing customised Kaala' t-shirts, gathered to see the movie in Chennai.

Mumbai: Excitement and enthusiasm is simmering among superstar Rajinikanth’s fans whose is making a comeback to cinema with his latest movie ‘Kaala’ that has hit the big screens today.

Videos of fans cheering with joy, bursting crackers and dancing to their hearts content (inside and outside the theatres) are all over the Internet. Like most of the times during the release of Rajinikanth's film, people from Japan and other parts of the country joined the fans in India to celebrate yet another film, where Thalaiva takes the centrestage.

Movie theatres are adorned with grand posters and hoardings of Rajinikanth's film and it's no less than a festival for fans of Rajinikanth worldwide today.

Enthusiasm was seen among Rajinikanth’s fans in Mumbai who queued up in large numbers outside a movie theatre to watch 'Kaala'.

Suprestar Rajinikanth starrer ‘Kaala’ has earned Rs 230 crore in pre-release business. If the film collects Rs 280 crore more then it will secure a position on the list of 2018's commercial hit films.

Despite the Supreme Court’s ruling in favour of ‘Kaala’release in Karnataka the film continues to face the wrath of pro-Kannada groups who have threatened to disrupt the screening in the state.

Upset with Rajinikanth's statement over the Cauvery row, a Karnataka film body banned the release of the film earlier this month.

On the eve of the release of the movie ‘Kaala’, Rajinikanth requested the outfits to not disturb the screening. "I have not done any mistake. Please do not disturb those who want to watch the movie. I request your cooperation," he said in Kannada, reports news agency PTI.

‘Kaala’ is set against the backdrop of Mumbai's Dharavi slum. The movie directed by Pa Ranjith also stars Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi. ‘Kaala’ is produced by Rajinikanth's son-in-law Dhanush.
