Licences of 9 Chemists Cancelled
Hyderabad: In a joint operation, The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and Drugs Control Administration, Government of Telangana on Wednesday raided nine medical shops in the city for selling sedative drugs like alprazolam without doctor’ prescription and for poor record keeping. Officials cancelled their licences.
Following specific information, teams raided Ganesh Pharmaceuticals in Koti, Biosphere Enterprises in Amberpet, Akshaya medical and general store in Lakdikapul and seized huge stock of sedatives and for violating norms, officials said.
While Sardar Medical Hall’s licence was suspended for three days for not maintaining entries in records, Hyderabad Medical and General Stores was suspended for seven days. “RS Medical and General Stores in Langar Houz and Bharat Medical and General Stores in Charminar were suspended for three days. Also Al-Harma Medical and General Stores in Humayunnagar was suspended for 15 days. Sri Ayappa Medical and General Stores and Gokul Medicals in Gowliguda for two days. Similarly, Meera Medicals in Charminar for seven days and Life Pharma in Mangar Basti for four days,” officials said.
According to the officials, the violations include, operating without a pharmacist, poor record keeping, dispensing medicines without a valid prescription.
