Hyderabad: ISIS ultras creating big trouble in Prison
Hyderabad: Prisoners belonging to the ISIS and other terror outfits kept in city jails are creating troubles in jails. Several jailers have been injured in attacks.
Five persons accused in the Dilsukhnagar blasts including Yasin Bhatkal are lodged in the Cherlapalli prison.
The five suspected ISIS supporters who were arrested on Wednesday are also lodged there, before hand over to NIA for 12 days from Saturday. Three ISIS supporters who were arrested earlier are lodged in the Chanchalguda prison along with other terror prisoners.
Officials say the terror suspects are creating trouble in jail complaining about inadequate food. Four Chanchalguda warders were seriously injured when some suspects belonging to the Tahreeq-e-Galba Islam and IM attacked them.
Jailor Hanuman Prasad suffered head injuries requiring 28 stitches. Jailor Sridhar was injured in the leg and jailor Srinivas Reddy suffered a hand fracture.
Shifting under trial prisoners to other jails requires court permission.
The shortage of manpower in prisons coming in the way of controlling trouble makers. The Cherlapalli jail has only 220 personnel working in three shifts.

“The available staff should man the watchtowers, security outside and inside the prison and perform other duties like monitoring prisons’ industries, barracks and gardens. The government is providing sophisticated infrastructure to the police department and the same is required in the prisons’ department,” he said.
