Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on his third visit to Telangana this year and his first to Warangal, where he is expected to lay foundation stones for development projects and a railway wagon manufacturing unit, all worth around ₹6,100 crore, on Saturday.
While the BJP has been making hectic preparations for a public meeting at the arts college grounds in Warangal, the police have deployed 3,500 personnel for his security.
Modi, who will arrive at the Hakimpet air force station from Varanasi by 9.25 am, will fly to Mamanur air strip in Warangal and from there proceed to Bhadrakali temple to offer prayers at 10.30 am.
Following this, he will lay foundation stone for the ₹521 crore railway wagon manufacturing plant at Kazipet, along with laying foundation stones for four-laning of the Mancherial-Warangal national highway spanning 109 kilometres, and four-laning of the 68-km long Jagtial-Karimnagar-Warangal highway.
At 12.30 pm, he is scheduled to address a public meeting at the arts college grounds. Later, he will return to Hakimpet from where he will leave for Rajasthan.
While Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, the newly appointed state BJP president, along with senior leaders, has been busy overseeing the preparations, the police have made elaborate security arrangements.
DGP Anjani Kumar reviewed the preparations during a video conference with Warangal police, while in Warangal, police commissioner V. Ranganath said senior police officers have been appointed as in-charges and armed security arrangements have been made at Mamunur, Bhadrakali temple, and arts college.
