Tamil Nadu law varsity VC post: Government rejects search panel candidates

Madurai: The Tamil Nadu Governor has rejected the candidates selected by the search committee for the post of vice chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, additional advocate general B.Pugazhendhi informed the Madurai bench of the Madras High court here on Wednesday.

The AAG submitting a letter before justices said, that the chancellor would constitute a new search committee comprising eminent educationists following amendment section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University Act, 1996, to shortlist the eligible candidates for the post. When the case came up for hearing today, the judges examined the letter submitted by the AAG and disposed of the petition.
