Balaji temple planned on Krishna Uttaravahini
Guntur: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will construct the new capital Amaravati’s Balaji temple atop Vykunthapuram situated on the banks of River Krishna. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu made an announcement about the same — auspicious Uttaravahini place.
It will be built near the 5,000-year-old ancient Venkateswara temple already existing on the hill. The temple is considered auspicious due to the holiness its location, at the Uttara-vahini, towards the north side of River Krishna, On Thursday, the locals performed special puja welcoming the CM’s decision.
Earlier, the TTD officials had asked the state government to allot 15 acres at Rayapudi for construction of Lord Venkateswara temple. There are two ancient temples of Lord Balaji, at Vykunthapuram and Ananthavaram, both located on the hills.
Ananthavaram is one of the villages in the Capital region and Vykunthapu-ram is situated on the borders of Amaravati.
Mr Naidu believes in vastu and is considering that a temple at the Uttaravahini (towards the north of the River Krishna) will usher in prosperity to Amaravati. For this reason, he has decided to construct the Balaji temple on Krounchagiri of Vykunthapuram, hoping growth in Amaravati and the entire state.
The TTD has already adopted Anantavaram hi-lltop Meesala Venkateswa-ra Swamy temple and now going to construct capital’s main Balaji temple on Krounchagiri which glimpse the beauty of Krishna river to the devotees from hilltop.
All India Panchayat Parishad national secretary J. Veeranjaneyulu said that Uttaravahini was treated as auspicious in Hindu religion so the new capital Amaravati proposed here and now the construction of Balaji temple on the Krouncha-giri of Uttaravahini at Vykunthapuram will do all good to the state.
Head priest of Krounchagiri temple K.V. Narasimha Sastry said the public welcomed the decision of TTD Balaji temple with Rs 100 crore funds and conducted special pujas, including Ksheerabhish-ekam, in the ancient temple. He said that further worships offered for the restrain of hurdles for Amaravati establishment and for development and prosperity of AP state. He predicted all good to Amaravati and AP state in the coming years with Balaji temple at Uttaravahini place.
