Belagavi: A 67-year-old man and his two grandsons drowned in a well at a private farm in Annigeri, near Belagavi, on Friday. They are identified as Shreeshail Charantimath, 67, and his grandsons Samarth, 12, and Somayya, 11.
The boys had gone to their grandfather's house to spend the Dasara holidays.
When the boys insisted Charantimath to take them for swimming, he took them to the well in his farm. Suddenly, the two boys jumped into the well even before Charantimath asked them to enter the well. When he saw them drowning, he jumped to rescue them. But all the three drowned.
Their bodies were fished out by the police.
