Belagavi: Officials stopped a farmer who allegedly tried to consume pesticide in Ichal village when the Central team was in Belagavi district to study the drought situation on Friday.
According to sources Appa Saheb had lost his crops on 40 acre land and was dejected by this. He came in his vehicle with a bottle. As soon as he took out the pesticide bottle, the officials stopped and snatched it from him.
Appa Saheb wanted the government to take some measures to help the farmers in distress.
