Hyderabad: With Neet now being the basis for admissions into medical and dental colleges, students are seeking clarity on the entrance test the state government has to conduct for admissions into agriculture, veterinary, horticulture, pharmacy etc as well as for Ayush courses (Ayurveda, Homeopathy). It will be helpful for the students’ community if authorities deliberate on this issue and make an announcement well in advance so that students get ample time for preparation of both entrance tests.
“What will be the future of Eamcet? Will the authorities conduct separate entrance tests for admissions into Agriculture and other courses? If so, what will be the exam pattern? Will there be any changes keeping in mind the Neet pattern?” These are some of the doubts on everyone’s mind, according to S. Bharat Kumar, a senior Intermediate student.
When asked about students concerns, TSCHE (Telangana State Council for Higher Education) chairman Mr N. Papi Reddy agreed that the issue must be looked at with top priority.
“A meeting will be convened on how to go about this exam. We need to check about including negative marking, like Neet, but there is also a separate entrance test for engineering that does not have negative marking at all. Experts will be consulted as also all stakeholders. We will also reach out to AP authorities on how to go about it since they too were conducting EAMCET exam like us until this year,” he said.
