Babri Masjid demolition anniversary: Left parties observe black day in Puducherry

CPI and CPI-ML joined CPM in its first-ever nation-wide initiative to observe a black day to mark the demolition of the northern mosque.

Chennai: CPI(M) and other Left parties observed December 6 as black day in the Union Territory marking the 25th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid.

CPI and CPI-ML joined CPM in its first-ever nation-wide initiative to observe a black day to mark the demolition of the northern mosque.

Volunteers of CPI, CPI(M) and CPI(ML) held a demonstration near the Immaculate Conception Cathedral to mark the occasion. CPI State Secretary R Viswanathan, CPI (M) Secretary Rajangam and CPI(ML) Secretary Balasubramanian led the agitation.

“The day is also the death anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar. We are observing a black day to register our protest against the growing communal polarisation in the country driven by the policies of Union government and several state governments. It is also an occasion to resist growing incidents of atrocities against dalits in the country,” said the leaders.

The forces which demolished Babri Masjid are now actively trying to create communal issues in India by taking law into their hands, they said.
