New railway line to boost development
NIZAMABAD: A survey of the new railway line between Armoor-Adilabad and electrification of Jagtial-Nizamabad railway line will boost up the development in north Telangana districts. Rs 80 crore has been allocated in the railway budget for electrification of 95 kms stretch of Lingampet, Jagtial to Nizamabad railway station. In addition, a new railway line is proposed from Armoor to Adilabad via Nirmal.
After Independence only Peddapally-Karimnagar-Nizamabad railway line was laid with prolonged works for 25 years. The present survey will be taken up for a new railway line on par with National Highway 44 (earlier NH-7). Actually, NH-44 passes through Nizamabad district from Hyderabad to Nagpur. But the railway line is diverted from Hyderabad to Warangal-Ballarsha to Nagpur.
The proposed railway line will reduce the distance for Nagpur and New Delhi in the near future.
However, comprehensive development will be taken up in agriculturally progressed areas of Nizamabad, Jagtial, Nirmal and Adilabad districts. People of north Telangana districts have been demanding for new railway lines from Armoor to Adilabad, Bodhan to Bidar since long time.
Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha expressed happiness over electrification of Jagtial and Nizamabad railway line and survey for Armoor-Adilabad new line. “It is good news for people of Nizamabad Parliamentary constituency,” she quoted on Twitter on Wednesday.
