Politics heats up ahead of polls in Warangal
WARANGAL: With just one year or less left for the general elections, the politics in Warangal are heating up. The TRS and Congress parties are strengthening their cadre. Several key leaders have joined the Congress from the TDP recently giving a boost to the party.
Recently, several leaders from the TDP have joined the Congress and some of the party workers from TRS have also joined the Congress. There is word going abuzz that some of the key leaders and sitting MLAs like the Konda couple, Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Dr T. Rajaiah would leave the TRS for Congress.
Warangal East MLA Konda Surekha and MLA Konda Muralidhar Rao have not been feeling at home in the TRS. There is a cold war going on in the constituency with Errabelli Pradeep Rao and Basvaraju Saraiah joining the TRS from the same constituency.
The Konda couple is setting up the stage to launch their daughter Sushmita’s political career from this election. They are anticipating the party would give her a chance this time.
Similarly, Deputy Chief Minister and education minister Kadiam Srihari’s daughter Kadiam Kavya is said to contest the election this time. She might either contest from Station Ghanpur where her father was an ex-legislator or from Wardhannapet.
Political analysts say since sitting MLA from Station Ghanpur Dr T. Rajaiah, who was shunted from the post of Deputy CM and health minister, is looking to jump ship from the TRS to the Congress, current Wardhannapet MLA Aroori Ramesh may contest from Station Ghanpur making the line clear for Kadiam Kavya.
